Meanwhile, on the blog...

Colours and Code

Colours and Code is the newest show added to SSKTN.

I had previously invited Blaine Korte to be on the Too Lazy to Blog show as a guest but we had too many fights about show topics and so I finally said "Fine! Go do your own show!" and so he did - and Colours and Code is what it's called.

We'll be talking about life as a freelancing web designer and developer - both the technical and the business side of things.

We're also trying out a unique way of deciding on show topics. We're using a web app called Trello to allow people to comment and vote on upcoming topics as a way of measuring interest. Blaine still reserves the right to decide a topic of his choosing that's not on the list (he's such a diva!), but this at least gives some power to the people.

In episode 1 (listen here) we talk about the show and how we're using Trello a bit so go listen and then hit up the Trello page to let us know what we should talk about next.

Money and Freelancing

On a recent episode of Lost & Lemon (the podcast where my brother-in-law and I chat about life as business owners, husbands and dads) we chat about how life keeps moving even if you don't have the work to pay for it at the moment.

It's too bad that it's so hard to be open and vulnerable about the fears and scary moments of running your own business because I'm sure there's a lot more people out there going through it than you might realize. Hopefully you find it interesting, therapuetic or helpful in some way to listen to us bare a bit of our souls.

Upcoming Show You Could Be a Part Of

As I referenced in my talk at BarcampYXE this last weekend, my first foray into podcasting was through a U2 fan podcast where Christopher Schmitt and I waxed poetic about U2 tour news and other things related to Bono and The Edge.

I don't want to restart that show exactly - what I do want to do is an interview show with fans/fanatics of U2 from around the world to find out their story of becoming and being a U2 fan.

So if you're a fan of U2 or know someone who is, visit ssktn.com/contact/u2-fan-podcast-survey/ and leave your details so I can get in touch with you when I'm ready to start.

 Achtung baby!

Too Lazy to Blog

In the latest episode of this still evolving show, Blaine and Chris chat about Expression Engine and why a developer might want to try it out.

Or rather - Blaine talks about it and Chris listens and learns about Expression Engine with the occasional question.

Listen and leave some questions here.
